Exemption from the coursework courses may be granted by the Chair of the School through the Associate Chair (Research) if the candidate is deemed to have already done sufficient coursework in the relevant area in a Master's degree programme at a recognised University. In the case of a Master's degree candidate, the minimum requirement after allowing for exemptions is one enrichment course. In the case of a PhD degree candidate, the minimum requirements after allowing for exemptions are either one enrichment course plus one coursework course, or two coursework courses.
